L'article 2 LETC r\u00e8gle le rapport de la LETC en tant que l\u00e9gislation-cadre avec la l\u00e9gislation sectorielle de la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration. Par l\u00e9gislation sectorielle, on entend les lois f\u00e9d\u00e9rales et les ordonnances qui contiennent des dispositions sur certains produits, certaines cat\u00e9gories de produits ou certains aspects des produits, notamment dans la perspective de leur mise sur le march\u00e9. Ainsi, la LETC s'applique en principe \u00e0 tous les domaines dans lesquels la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration \u00e9dicte des prescriptions techniques (art. 2 al. 1 LETC). Les dispositions fix\u00e9es au niveau de la loi ou d'accord internationaux allant au-del\u00e0 de la LETC ou y d\u00e9rogeant priment cette derni\u00e8re (art. 2 al. 2 premi\u00e8re phrase LETC). \u00c0 l'inverse, la LETC prime les ordonnances sectorielles si les dispositions divergentes de celles-ci n'ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9vues express\u00e9ment dans une loi sectorielle.
