Le 18 octobre 2011, un rapport de synth\u00e8se \u00e9tudiant les r\u00e9percussions des options de r\u00e9fection envisag\u00e9es sur l'\u00e9conomie r\u00e9gionale a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9labor\u00e9 en compl\u00e9ment. Ces deux rapports examinent \u00e0 la fois les options qui pr\u00e9voient la construction d'un second tube et celles qui l'excluent. Compte tenu de l'importance cruciale du fonctionnement de l'autoroute ferroviaire dans le cas d'une r\u00e9fection sans construction d'un second tube, un rapport de synth\u00e8se concernant les possibilit\u00e9s offertes par ce dispositif durant la r\u00e9fection a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9dig\u00e9.</p><p>Durant le premier semestre 2012, sur la base de ces rapports, le Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral prendra une d\u00e9cision concr\u00e8te concernant la suite du projet de r\u00e9fection du tunnel routier du Saint-Gothard.
