La grande majorit\u00e9 des locuteurs francophones et italophones utilisent et comprennent le masculin g\u00e9n\u00e9rique dans sa valeur inclusive, tel qu'il est enseign\u00e9. Les guides proposent aussi des solutions pour les situations dans lesquelles il est possible de renoncer au masculin g\u00e9n\u00e9rique. La Chancellerie f\u00e9d\u00e9rale observe en permanence l'\u00e9volution de la langue. Les guides sont destin\u00e9s \u00e0 la r\u00e9daction des textes de la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration, en particulier aux textes l\u00e9gislatifs, et ne r\u00e9glementent pas l'usage des langues en Suisse. Ce n'est pas la Chancellerie f\u00e9d\u00e9rale qui dicte l'\u00e9volution de celles-ci.
